Each commercial project we undertake is tailored to meet the specific needs of the architects and general contractors we work with. Because we believe in supporting the community where we work and live, our awnings are locally manufactured using regionally sourced materials and installed by our own specially trained employees. Our experience, expertise, and excellence have ensured thousands of successfully completed projects throughout SC, NC, GA, and TN.

Owner/President
Jayson Carnes brings more than 30 years of industry experience to his role as Owner and President of Greenville Awning Company. Beginning his career as an installer, Jayson worked his way up through sales and management before becoming an owner. This first-hand knowledge contributes to a full understanding of every part of the business.
Under his leadership, Greenville Awning Company has fostered a strong company culture and experienced significant growth. Jayson is passionate about helping businesses and homeowners transform their patios and outdoor areas, and he finds it deeply rewarding to see how a well-designed awning or enclosure can enrich daily life.
When he’s not at work, Jayson enjoys time with his wife and two children, volunteering with local organizations, and traveling to new places.
Owner/Sales Manager
With more than 21 years of experience in the home improvement and outdoor living industry, Scott Melton plays a key role in helping businesses and homeowners enhance their spaces with custom shade and enclosure solutions throughout the Upstate and surrounding regions. As Owner and Sales Manager of Greenville Awning Company, Scott is known for his expertise in commercial canopy design and sales as well as residential home improvement projects, blending practical know-how and creativity.
Scott led the company’s first major commercial canopy contract at Asheville Outlets and has been instrumental in driving steady growth over the past two decades. What inspires him most is hearing homeowners describe how their new outdoor spaces have improved their lives. Those conversations make every project worthwhile.
Outside the office, Scott enjoys traveling, golfing, and cheering on both the UNC Tar Heels and the Appalachian State Mountaineers.
Owner/Vice President & Operations Manager
As an Owner and Vice President/Operations Manager, Spencer Carnes focuses on optimizing operations and ensuring that each project meets the highest standards of quality and service. Spencer spent a decade with True Homes before entering his ownership role with Greenville Awning Company. This experience strengthened his skills in problem-solving, operational efficiency, and customer-focused project delivery.
A fourth-generation member of the Carnes family business, Spencer grew up working summers in the sewing shop and helping install products. Over the past 2.5 years, he’s helped guide Greenville Awning Company into its next chapter, blending legacy with innovation. One of his notable contributions includes collaborating with HR to implement a personality assessment program for the leadership team, resulting in improved communication and team alignment. He’s also passionate about the company’s community involvement, supporting initiatives like the annual Day of Service and local giving efforts.
Spencer is an Appalachian State graduate, a beach lover, and a fan of trying new restaurants and supporting local businesses. He lives in WNC with his wife and son and is driven by creating solutions that genuinely improve customers’ outdoor spaces.
